Our Annual Support service is the core of our Annual Support Packages. With it you can name Phoenix as your 'Competent Advisor' as required by UK law.

As detailed by The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999, organisations require the assistance of a designated 'Competent Person' to assist with Health and Safety matters. The core service of our Health and Safety Support Packages is our Annual Support. With it we take the role of your 'Competent Person', providing support to organisations via phone and email. This also includes monthly newsletters that provide you with regular health and safety advice, while also keeping you up to date on any changes to health and safety legislation. Even for those organisations who have a health safety officer or advisor, having Phoenix on hand to assist can provide you peace of mind that you're fulfilling your duties under UK law.

Companies of 5 members or more are legally required to have a health and safety policy in place under the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974.This policy must be regularly reviewed and assessed, with all members of an organisation kept up to date on any changes.

While a Health and Safety Policy is one of the key documents an organisation must have in place, there are a range of other documents, such as Safe Systems of Work and Emergency Safety Procedures, that should also be utilised to ensure the members of an organisation are carrying out their work safely.

Health and Safety Support Package clients on the 'Full' package or higher get access to a suite of health and safety policy and document templates, giving them the tools to put in place a variety of health and safety policy and procedure.

Phoenix are also on hand to help you renew and develop your core Health and Safety Policy, ensuring it meets all the criteria required by UK law.

Our Health and Safety Audits and Audit Reviews are conducted in line with UK laws and the principles contained within the Health & Safety Executive’s guidance on management systems (HS(G)65).

Annual Support Clients with a Full package or higher can contact us to request their audit. Our team will organise one of our health and safety specialists to come down to your chosen site when convenient for your team. Upon arriving at the site, our expert will inspect and observe your daily safety practices and strategies in action. They'll also review your health and safety documentation, comparing both to the requirements of UK Health and Safety legislation, as well as best practice guidance.

You'll receive a full report detailing the audit findings, which includes an action plan that recommends steps you can take to improve practices. For assistance implementing these actions and other advice, you can speak to our Annual Support team.
